WHY DOES PAPER BEAT ROCK?
Rock beats Scissors; Scissors beats Paper, Paper beats Rock..
1. Come up with an alternative set -- three words, A,B, and C, such that A beats B, B beats C, and C beats A. (My favorite example is cat, tinfoil, microwave!).
2. Now come up with another set. This time, A supports B; B supports C, and C supports A.
3. Write a 500 word reflection in which you 1) Explain the different ways you found that one thing can beat another (A beats B in a different way than B beats C, etc.); 2) Do the same with the support set. 3) What did you learn in this process about the concept of "winning" (beating) and "supporting"?
