WORKPLACE DEMOCRACY

THEORY:

Whenever there's a group, every question comes with another question: who gets to answer that question? And then there's still another question: Will it be answered democratically, by the whole group, or dictatorially, by a single dictator? Under our current economic system, capitalism, almost all decisions at the work place are made dictatorially, and the dictator is, well, the one with the capital -- the one who invested money in the enterprise. but is that fair? If capitalism is a non-democratic economic model, does it really have any place in a democratic society? Worker-owned cooperatives offer another solution: what if the workers all owened, and democratically ran, the workplace?
